Manchester United have opened talks to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to sources close to the Old Trafford club. The 23-year-old winger, who progressed through Chelsea's academy before joining Forest on a permanent deal in 2023, has attracted significant interest from the Premier League's elite sides. Hudson-Odoi made 34 appearances for Forest last season, contributing four goals and three assists as Nuno Espírito Santo's side consolidated their position in the top flight following their promotion from the Championship.

United's midfield options have been stretched following injuries and inconsistent form, making Hudson-Odoi's creativity and pace an attractive proposition for manager Erik ten Hag. The England international recorded his best goal-contribution season in 2024–25 and remains one of the brightest prospects in the league, with his combination of pace, technical ability, and physical maturity setting him apart from peers. Forest, currently sitting sixth in the league table with genuine European aspirations, would demand a significant fee to part with a player who has become integral to their attacking structure.

If the move progresses, Hudson-Odoi would become United's third major signing of the window, following substantial investment in their squad overhaul. The midfielder's acquisition would strengthen Ten Hag's options in advanced positions and provide competition across the front line, where United have struggled for consistency. Forest would need to act quickly to identify a replacement should they sanction the sale, with the transfer window approaching its critical phase and their Champions League qualification hopes hanging in the balance.
